So, I watched the "first" Republican debate on CNN a few nites ago. While it was largely the same old tired collection of preachers and other theocrats, there were a couple of breaths of fresh - or at least semi-fresh - air.
They all agreed that the Socialist Obama is a failure and needs to go - a sentiment I wholeheartedly agree with. They also mostly toed the Theocratic line, although its way too early in the campaign to thump the Bible too hard. A couple of statements stood out:
1) No Sharia law. Yea, no kidding. We also don't need Biblical law, Talmudic law or ANY religiously based law whatsoever.
2) Someone said the First amendment was created to protect religion from government, but not to protect the government from religion. WAY WRONG ANSWER A$$HAT!!
The "possible" breath of fresh air: Michele Bachmann. If she doesn't slide into the Theocratic Quagmire, she might be a good pick.
The other "semi-fresh" breath was, as it was last time, Ron Paul. Like last time, he's the only one who seems to friggin' GET IT. Its the economy, stupid. He GETS that. He GOT it last time. He's also no Theocrat, which means he has little chance of going anywhere...
So ONCE AGAIN, here we go. Socialism or Theocracy? Pick your poison - they both will kill America. Correction: They both ARE killing America.
